Description: Enterovirus (EV) is a group of positive-sense, single-stranded RNA viruses that are commonly found in the environment and can cause various diseases in humans and animals. The family Picornaviridae to which EV belongs includes over 200 known types of viruses, some of which are responsible for significant illnesses such as polio, hepatitis A, and rhinovirus infections.Diagnosis of EV infections is typically based on clinical symptoms and laboratory testing. Sampling methods include collecting blood samples, throat swabs, urine samples, or stool samples for viral detection. PCR assays are commonly used for detecting the presence of viral RNA.
