Anti Enterovirus A71 VP1 (EV-A71/VP1) Monoclonal Antibody

Clone HI456              Catalog#: A50456

Description: Enteroviruses are classified in virology as a member of the enterovirus group within the picornaviridae family. Enterovirus 71 (EV71) is the latest discovered virus in the enterovirus group, with strong infectivity and high pathogenicity, especially in terms of neurological complications. Other viruses belonging to the enterovirus group include polioviruses, coxsackieviruses (with three types), echoviruses (with 31 types), and enteroviruses (68-72 types). EV71 mainly causes hand-foot-and-mouth disease in infants and young children, but can also cause various neurological diseases such as aseptic meningitis, brainstem encephalitis, and poliomyelitis-like muscular atrophy. hand-foot-and-mouth disease and central nervous system infections are the two common clinical symptoms caused by EV71 infection. Among them, the antigenicity of VP1, the nucleocapsid protein of EV71 virus, is the strongest. It is related to the topological structure, antigenicity, receptor adsorption, and shell disassembly on the surface of the viral particle. After infection or vaccination, it can produce strong neutralizing antibodies.
