Description: IL17 is secreted by CD4 T cells and can induce the synthesis and secretion of IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2 in epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts, promoting the expression of ICAM-1. IL-17 is an early activator of T cell-induced inflammatory responses and can amplify inflammation by promoting the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines. After binding to its receptor, IL-17 can exert its biological effects through the MAP kinase pathway and the nuclear factor kB (nuclear factor kB, NF-kB) pathway. Th17 cells can produce IL-17A, IL-17F, IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor alpha (tumor necrosis factor alpha, TNF-a), which can collectively mobilize and activate neutrophils. The IL-17 produced by Th17 cells can effectively mediate the activation process of neutrophil recruitment, thereby effectively mediating tissue inflammation. Therefore, IL-17 plays a key role in autoimmune diseases and tumor development, making it a target molecule for drug design.
