Description: Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is a cytokine of the chemokine family. It is produced by antigen-presenting cells and B cells and is a heterodimeric form of pro-inflammatory cytokines, secreted into the extracellular space in this form. IL-12 can induce the production of IFN-V, and it is also essential for the production of IFN-y in vivo (especially in bacterial or parasitic infections). IL-12 is composed of two subunits, IL-12A (p35) and IL-12B (p40). Monoclonal antibodies with neutralizing activity against IL-12 can have a good therapeutic effect on autoimmune diseases.
