Description: Mullerian hormone (Anti-Mullerian hormone), also known as AMH, is a glycoprotein that is one of the most widely studied female reproductive physiological regulators. AMH is secreted by early growing follicles in the ovary and plays a role in the development and growth of follicles. It has a negative correlation with age and ovarian reserve function, indicating the decline of ovarian function even before changes in FSH and E2 levels are observed. AMH remains relatively constant throughout the menstrual cycle and is the only marker of ovarian reserve that can be measured during both the follicular and luteal phases. Compared to FSH, basal INHB values, and estradiol (E2), AMH can more accurately and earlier predict changes in a woman's ovarian reserve. AMH has unique advantages over other indicators in predicting the success rate of embryo transfer (IVF) and preventing complications such as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).
