Description:
Measles Virus is a spherical virus with RNA as its genetic material, and its diameter ranges from 100 to 250 nanometers. After infection with Measles Virus, patients may experience symptoms such as persistent fever, upper respiratory tract infection, conjunctivitis, and red maculopapular rash on the skin. In infants and young children, death often results from complications such as laryngitis, encephalitis, bronchopneumonia, and myocarditis. The measles virus nucleoprotein (N) encapsidates viral RNA, forming the ribonucleoprotein complex essential for replication. It also inhibits host interferon responses by binding MDA5.
