Description: Influenza A virus belongs to the family of Orthomyxoviridae and is an RNA virus that causes respiratory diseases. Hemagglutinin (HA) is an antigenic glycoprotein that enables the virus to attach and enter cells. Currently, 16 subtypes of HA have been identified, with H1, H2, and H3 primarily infecting humans; H5 and H7 cause avian diseases, and highly pathogenic strains such as H5N1 and H5N6 can result in 100% mortality in poultry. Occasional human infections with H5N1 and H5N6 can lead to 60% mortality rate. Hemagglutinin serves as an important target for anti-influenza drugs and antibodies. Monoclonal antibodies with HI activity against this subtype can provide accurate analysis of antigen variation in the virus and precise information for vaccine strain selection.
