Description: The Human chemokine CXC ligand 13 protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CXCL13 gene. This gene is located on the X chromosome and is expressed in a variety of tissues, including the brain, kidney, liver, and lung. The protein encoded by this gene is a chemokine that belongs to the CXC subfamily of chemokines. The Human chemokine CXC ligand 13 protein is thought to play a role in the development and maintenance of the nervous system. It has been shown to be involved in the regulation of axon guidance, a process by which nerve cells grow and form connections with other cells. Additionally, it has been implicated in the regulation of neuroinflammation, a process by which the immune system responds to injury or disease in the nervous system.
