Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is the main component of immunoglobulins in serum, accounting for approximately 75% of the total immunoglobulin content in serum. IgG has four subtypes, namely IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, and IgG4. IgG is the primary antibody in the body, possessing antiviral, virus-neutralizing, antibacterial, and immune-regulating functions. Equine IgG is critical for passive immunity in foals and vaccine responses. Anti-IgG antibodies diagnose infections (e.g., equine influenza) and assess immunization efficacy.
