Description: Human interleukin-8 (IL-8) is a chemokine specific to neutrophils. IL-8 is one of the early released cytokines by various types of cells in response to inflammatory stimuli, including T cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts. These cells recruit neutrophils, T cells, and basophils to the inflammatory region by recruiting them. The increase in IL-8 content is associated with the progression of many diseases, so IL-8 can be used as a marker for the diagnosis and prognosis of various diseases.
