Anti-Human CGRP Monoclonal Antibody
Anti-Human CGRP Monoclonal Antibody
Clone: Frembio Catalog#: AB5572
Description:
CGRP is a new neuropeptide from calcitonin gene (CT / CGRP gene) discovered in 1983. It consists of 37 amino acids with phenylalanine residues at the C-terminus, which is related to receptor recognition. Among them, there are abundant CGRP containing nerves in the respiratory tract at positions 2 and 7, including sensory, motor and autonomic neurons. CGRP can also exist in inflammatory cells and neuroendocrine cells. CGRP often coexists with a variety of neurotransmitters. In airway afferents, CGRP coexists with SP and promotes SP release. Glucocorticoids and capsaicin can promote the release of CGRP, androgens and opioid receptor agonists can inhibit the release of CGRP. CGRP containing nerves are mainly distributed near blood vessels and cause vasodilation of bronchus and nasal mucosa through activating receptors. They are important mediators of airway mucosal blood flow increase and congestion during airway inflammation caused by sensory nerve excitation. There are disulfide bonds between amino acids, which may play a major role. The N-terminal residues 23 ‐ 29 form a random coil, which may be mainly involved in initiating the subsequent signal transduction process and is closely related to the biological role.
