C1s protein is an important complement protein and plays an important role in the immune system. It is composed of a polypeptide chain consisting of 1036 amino acids. The C1s protein is encoded by the C1s gene and is synthesized in the liver. The main function of C1s protein in the immune system is to participate in the activation of complement system. Complement system is an important part of the immune system, which can recognize and destroy pathogens invading the body. C1s protein is a key enzyme of the complement system, which can cleave C4 and C2 precursor proteins into active forms after being activated.
