Description:

B7-H3 is a member of the B7 ligand family (PD-L1 is also a member of this family), which is overexpressed in most cancer types but expressed at low levels in normal tissues. In benign tissues, B7-H3 has a significant inhibitory effect on adaptive immune responses, inhibiting T cell activation and expansion. In malignant tissues, B7-H3 inhibits tumor antigen-specific immune responses, resulting in a protumorigenic effect. B7-H3 also has non-immunogenic functions, such as promoting migration and invasion, angiogenesis, chemotherapy resistance, endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition, and affecting tumor cell metabolism. The expression of B7-H3 in tumors is associated with poor prognosis, and more and more people are paying attention to its potential value in tumor immunotherapy.
