Description: Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) is the pathogen that causes canine distemper in dogs and other carnivores. The clinical manifestations include fever, rhinitis, and cough. The nucleoprotein NP of CDV is the main structural protein, and its antigenicity differs significantly from other paramyxoviruses. Monoclonal antibodies specific to NP can be used for differential diagnosis.
