Description: Bovine coronavirus, also known as neonatal calf diarrhea, is characterized by hemorrhagic diarrhea in clinical practice. This disease can also cause respiratory infections in cattle and blood diarrhea in adult dairy cows during the winter. It was first reported in the United States in 1973 and has now spread worldwide. Bovine coronavirus belongs to the Coronaviridae family and is classified with human coronavirus OC43 as a group. It has a multi-row spherical particle with a capsule, and the virus can grow and reproduce on various primary or passaged cells such as bovine kidney cells, bovine embryonic kidney cells, and canine kidney cells, and can also grow in the brain cells of suckling mice. Bovine coronavirus mainly infects cattle and water buffalo, human can also be infected.
