Anti Human Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Apolipoprotein (hNGAL) Monoclonal Antibody

Clone HI527    Catalog#: A50527

DescriptionNeutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NAGL), also known as lipocalin-2 (LCN2), is a small glycoprotein that belongs to the family of lipid-binding proteins. In addition to neutrophils, NAGL can be expressed in several other types of cells when they encounter damage. Although the specific biological function of NAGL is not yet clear, it is known that NAGL participates in the host's natural immunity by binding to siderophores produced by bacteria. NAGL exists in three forms in blood and urine: a 25kd monomer, a 45kd dimer linked by disulfide bonds, and a heterotrimer linked covalently with MMP-9. NAGL can serve as a biomarker for acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney disease (CKD), allowing early detection of structural kidney damage and prognosis of kidney diseases. In addition, similar to CRP and PCT, NAGL can also be used as a non-specific indicator of acute infection.
